Hi all,
As usual in NE when the skiing gets good you know it won't last long, so it did not. Some snow, rain and then really cold (-5this morn). Made the best of it and have been XC skiing at Notchview with Marty, its fast in those frozen tracks. Made me think as I wizz by those trees that I should have a helmet on. Dr. Rabaut coming today from France so we will be doing some downhill friday before the mixed weather coming for the weekend.
Got a nice note from Gus Gustafsson who is skiing the life in Utah, you know that old trail sign on a piece of boo "Better skiing in Utah" Enjoy these pics from him skiing wilderness areas in that desert paradise.

Good skiing

Like spring skiing, must be the January thaw in February. Last week 3 days with Alex on the snow, good times. wed/Stratton, thu/Okemo, fri/Mtsnow then high winds and cold.

No hat guy doing what he does best:
Alex always liked going fast....

More good stuff

I know its not new stuff, but those photos are just awesome. Thanks Mike and JC for sharing
And then a good day skiing with the ISKI glasses guy

Sometimes repairs are necessary

Hi all,
Craig and I had a great day at Okemo last friday. We found plenty of snow other than groomers. This time we skiied from Jackson Gore back towards the South side. Finished the day in the Glades, perfect, plenty of soft bumps and as we spoke to a couple patrollers getting ready for sweep they told us that they sweep the glades at 3pm put keep the rope down as they expect only good skiers in there. So we kept lapping it up; on the last run I caught an edge and it started coming off the ski. By the time I got back to base 4' of edge was off, not broken or bent but out of its groove, bummer my fav skis! So I called the main man, Josh A. He said to use slow curing epoxy, I kept the ski warm and dry (70F), cleaned the groove well with acetone and toohpicks, let that dry and then applied the epoxy with more toothpicks and gently clamped it, I said gently because if you skeeze to hard you deform the base. Let it dry for 24hrs and presto back in business.
Yes, I will have it stone ground  and waxed too but mainly I am ready for Alex's arrival and more adventures
Enjoy the pics

More snow fun

Hi all,

JC and Mike P. and I skinned and snowshoed up Mt Snow on friday at dawn, it was a beautiful day with blue sky and pink clouds, we were celebrating JC's birthday, we skied together for a half day and they went on to other things. I stayed and met Craig and we had a blast skiing big soft bumps and lots of blower snow.
Freefall, Ledges, Pat's pitch, the Cord and some neat unamed woods were the highlights. A massive system of clouds with winds came in late in the afternoon and eventually blew us of the mountain.
More pics when I get them from the other guys.
Get out there and do it, before you know it it will be spring skiing!
